Databases

A bibliographic database is an archive of bibliographic references. It contains, in other words, citations of articles in magazines,
of books or of essays or chapters in monographs, of reports presented at conferences which were subsequently collected and published.
It is an important research tool for becoming aware of documents which, if judged to be of interest, can be consulted in their entirety.
Compared to a search conducted on a generic search engine, a database offers, among other things, the scientific guarantee of the results obtained.
This guarantee, in fact, is given by the selection, analysis and criticism of the contents conducted by qualified scientific committees.

DiscoverySapienza is a powerful search engine with which to simultaneously query most of the electronic resources available at La Sapienza:
the search is carried out on all electronic periodicals under subscription and on many databases.

To access electronic resources even from home you need to use Discovery by authenticating with your institutional credentials.
