  • Prof. Amy K. Ferketich - College of Public Health - The Ohio University
Abstract: In the United States, there are a variety of tobacco products available, including cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigar products, and waterpipes. This changing marketplace has led to changing patterns of tobacco use and nicotine dependence. This talk will present the latest information on patterns in tobacco use and cessation among adults in the United States, including research from rural and urban adults in Ohio conducted by investigators in the Center for Excellence in Regulatory Tobacco Science at The Ohio State University

  • Seminario: “E-cigarette among adolescents in the United States
  • Dr. Brittney Keller-Hamilton - College of Public Health - The Ohio University
Abstract: Over the past few years, the prevalence of electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) use among adolescents has increased rapidly in the United States. In addition to the adverse health effects of using e-cigarettes in this population, there is also a concern that using e-cigarettes might cause adolescents to be more likely to start smoking cigarettes. This talk will present the consequences of e-cigarette use among adolescents in the United States, including new research using causal inference methods to evaluate whether e-cigarettes serve as a gateway to cigarette use among adolescent boys
