Department of Excellence 2023-2027
The Department of Experimental Medicine is proud to be one of the 12 departments of Sapienza and the only department from Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry to have been selected as the Department of Excellence for the 2023-2027 round.
Established in 2017 by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR), the fund for financing University Departments of Excellence is a measure to strengthen and enhance research, with major investment in human resources, infrastructure and highly qualified educational activities.
On 28 December 2022, MUR published the list of 180 departments of excellence and Sapienza University confirmed itself as one of the best universities in Italy with 12 of its departments chosen for the funding for the five-year period 2023-2027.
