Giuseppe Saccomandi is full professor of Mathematical Physics at the
Dipartimento di Ingegneria of the University of Perugia and adjunct
professor of Applied Mathematics at the NUI Galway. He was educated at the
University of Perugia. He has held positions at Sapienza University of Roma and the University of Lecce (today University of Salento). He has held
visiting appointments at University Paris VI and CNRS (1991, 2005, 2006),
University of Virginia (1999, 2001) and a Carnot Star fellowship at the AixMarseille
University (2014, 2015).
His research interests are in rational mechanics (mechanics of continua and
nonlinear elasticity), applied mathematics and biomechanics, computational methods.
