A chi è rivolto: A tutti gli studenti dei Corsi di Lingue e Civiltà Orientali e Global Humanities.
Argomento: Si tratta di una serie di 4 seminari di 1,5 ore ciascuno, da tenersi online tra fine aprile e fine maggio 2021, dedicati agli studi sulla condizione femminile in Asia Meridionale nel periodo coloniale e contemporaneo. Studiose di primo piano a livello internazionale si soffermeranno su vari aspetti del movimento femminista, con particolare attenzione a rappresentazioni, riforme, leggi, istruzione, esperienze di donne subalterne, migrazione. Accanto alle risultanze empiriche della ricerca, illustreranno le diverse metodologie necessarie a ricostruire l’ampia gamma di forme espressive delle donne della regione.
I partecipanti dovranno poi redigere una relazione finale in italiano o inglese (almeno 6,000 battute, spazi inclusi) in formato Word (NON in pdf), e spedirla a sanjukta.dasgupta@uniroma1.it entro il 15 giugno 2021.

Theme of the Lectures: The programme consists of a series of 4 seminars of 1.5 hours each, to be held online between the end of April and the end of May 2021, on studies on the condition of women in colonial and contemporary South Asia. Internationally renowned scholars will focus on various aspects of the feminist movement, with particular attention to representations, reforms, legislation, education, experiences of subordinate women and migration. Alongside the empirical findings of the research, they will illustrate the different methodologies needed to reconstruct the wide range of voices of women in the region.
At the end of the seminar series, enrolled students must write a report of 6,000 characters (spaces included) in Italian /English. The report must be written in Word format (NOT in pdf) and submitted at sanjukta.dasgupta@uniroma1.it by 15 June 2021.
