Raccomandazioni dalla Queen Mary University di Londra

Dear Student,

We hope this email finds you safe and keeping well during these strange and challenging times. The Covid-19 pandemic has meant that life and study for all of us has changed and we understand you might have some questions about starting your study abroad programme with us here at Queen Mary, as a September 2020 offer holder.

Our primary concern is the wellbeing and safety of our students and staff. We are currently planning to welcome you to our campuses in person in September: if you are able to travel to join us on campus, please plan to do so. If you cannot travel, we will make sure you can fully access your education from wherever you are to enable this, from September to January, we will be offering an inclusive blended learning approach, which has been co-created with our current students.

What a blended approach means for you

Irrespective of travel restrictions still being in place in September, you will be able to start your study abroad programme at Queen Mary. Your education will be ‘blended’, that is, with a core backbone of lectures and seminars online and academic advising and mentoring support embedded. It is worth noting that as many students who study abroad at Queen Mary tend to register for modules (classes) across several different academic schools, each school may offer a slightly different version of blended learning, dependent on the module in question. For those able to join us on our campuses, this will be supplemented by face-to-face educational activities. Wherever you are, you will be able to join our community: in person or, if necessary, online. We have expanded our online learning facilities and we will be using the latest bespoke technology to ensure wherever you are, you can fully access your Queen Mary education and support.

Module Availability

Some Queen Mary schools have made changes to the modules available to visiting students next semester. If we are made aware of any changes to the module offering we will be in touch to advise you.

School of Law

Please note there are some changes to the modules available in the School of Law. If you are an exchange student holding an offer to study in the School of Law through the Global Law or European Law Programmes, the School of Law will shortly be writing to you with some additional information.

Safety on campus

If you are able to join us on campus in September, we will ensure that our premises and activities follow government guidance and that we are Covid-19 secure.  We are re-configuring our campuses, including our learning spaces, libraries, and our study and social spaces, to ensure that we can all stay safe. We will be in contact with you and your home institution to ensure you are kept up-to-date on the latest developments in this area as we learn more.

We understand and fully appreciate that this is a very difficult time, with many decisions needing to be made. We encourage you to reach out to your study abroad advisors at home, or to us, if you have any questions at all. If your home institution permits, you can defer your September 2020 offer to January 2021 should you wish. If you would like to defer your offer, please email us on study-abroad@qmul.ac.uk to advise us of this by 15 July.

In the meantime, please feel free to review our frequently asked questions
