Recovering the Humankind's Past and Saving the Universal Heritage. Collaborative activity

Dear All,
we are excited in proposing you something different, innovative and difficult for a MOOC: sharing a practical experience through a collaborative activity!

Archaeology is a specific matter that requires study, analysis, passion. Archaeologists always follow a long process before choosing a site and start digging. Besides studying Archaeology with us, our team decides to drive you to the next level: start thinking and acting as an Archaeologist!

This process, apparently simple, is a complex task considering the number of students enrolled in the course. The focus of our proposal is based on a group experience where personal commitments are definitely important to achieve the goal.

In this activity you will perform two distinct tasks:
1) collaborating within your group to accomplish the group target;
2) evaluating the others' group works.

Along the way it is important for us to feel you beside as supporter and collaborative within your group.
The geographical distance, cultural diversities, timing zone, network performance won’t help our experience.
For this reason we invite you all to provide the best collaboration ever and enjoy it.

Now, let’s get moving into action!!!

All students are invited to our collaborative work. We will provide you with all the necessary instructions. The “plus” you will get is a five credit bonus for the collaborative activity on top of the final score. The less intangible extra value you shall receive is the experience of working and interacting among students and staff within a MOOC.

For this activity you will be join a ten-person group.
Registration starts on December the 6th and closes on December the 10th (16:00 UTC+01:00).

A Sapienza link containing the registration page for this activity will be available through an announcement. Our system will form and organize groups automatically on the first come first served basis. Afterwards, all the applying students will be informed on the composition of the group and its members.
The participation to the activity is on a voluntary basis. While submitting your application, you will be asked to subscribe the “honor code” for a serious commitment and proactive collaboration.

Once the groups are formed, each group will elect a coordinator who is in charge of the communications between group and staff.
Each coordinator can contact the staff for technical problems and contents of collaborative activities through two specific forums that will be suitably available.
For the internal communication and sharing activities, each group has to create its own forum.

For further instructions and information on the Collaborative Activity proposal, we invite you all to look at the Collaborative Activities Session in the main course page .

Enjoy and be creative!
