From One Hill to Another

Cari amici e collaboratori, siamo lieti di annunciare l’incontro “From One Hill to Another – Translating Distance in the Foundational Poetry of Giovanni Pascoli” con la traduttrice Taije Silverman, in dialogo con Franco D’Intino e Iolanda Plescia.

L’incontro è stato organizzato in occasione dell’uscita del volume Selected poems of Giovanni Pascoli (Princeton University Press), traduzione di Taije Silverman e Marina Della Putta Johnston.

Taije Silverman is the author of a book of poetry, Houses Are Fields, as well as The Selected Poems of Giovanni Pascoli, translated from the Italian with Marina Della Putta Johnston. Her poems and translations have been published in The Nation, Poetry, The Harvard Review, The Kenyon Review, and elsewhere. They have been selected for the 2016 and 2017 editions of The Best American Poetry series as well as the 2016 Pushcart Prize Anthology; they received the Anne Halley Prize for best poem in The Massachusetts Review as well as residencies from Yaddo and MacDowell. Silverman is the recipient of a 2011 Fulbright, the Emory University Creative Writing Fellowship, and the Vassar College W.K. Rose Fellowship. She teaches in the Department of English, University of Pennsylvania.
