Economic Geography curriculum details

Scientific aims and objectives: this curriculum aims to provide participants with theoretical, methodological and practical skills that are needed to conduct high quality research, both within and beyond the Academia, in the fields of urban and regional planning, local and regional economic development, geodata processing and modelling, firms' location and geomarketing. The curriculum promotes research in line with the most recent advances in human geography, spatial statistics, regional economics and urban studies, and provides practical skills for the retrieval and analysis of geodata, the use of geographic information systems, surveying techniques and field research.

Main research fields: local and regional development; urban and territorial policies; spatial planning; firms’ location, competitiveness and innovation; geographic information systems and spatial analysis.
