Marina Zannella obtained her PhD in Demography from the University "Sapienza" of Rome in 2013. In 2019, she was awarded the national scientific qualification of Professor in Demography and Social Statistics from the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research.
Currently, she works as Assistant Professor of Demography at the Department of Methods and Models for Economics, Territory and Finance (MEMOTEF), "Sapienza" University of Rome. Previously she worked at the National Institute of Health and Science of Ageing (IRCCS INRCA), the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT), the Vienna Institute of Demography and the Vienna University of Technology. She has worked as an expert/consultant for several national and international research organisations and institutions.
She participates/has participated in many international research projects and is associate editor for Genus Journal of Population Sciences.
Her main research interests are: gender, women's work, time use, well-being, intergenerational transfers, ageing.
