My research activity is focused on the understanding the clinical neurophysiological mechanisms generating EEG rhythms during resting state and cognitive-motor tasks in healthy subjects, as well as patients with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection and neurodegenerative disorders (e.g. Alzheimer’s disease – AD, Parkinson’s disease – PD, Lewy Body Dementia - LBD), and cognitive frailty due to the aging. The main purpose is contributing to clarify the functional significance of the frequency and topography of the oscillations of human brain activity in the different neural circuits underling cognitive functions, also evaluating possible clinical applications.
