Title: Mechanisms of memory impairment and strategies of neuroprotection in Alzheimer’s disease
Abstract:
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a complex neurodegenerative condition that affects cognition in humans. The AD brain undergoes several metabolic and molecular changes that are thought to drive cognitive decline, although effective therapeutics has still been elusive. Here, we demonstrate novel cascades implicated in AD-linked memory loss and propose that correcting metabolic alterations either through pharmacological approaches or physical exercise could have therapeutic implications for AD.
