Talk title: PATHWAYS TO HEALTHY AGING: HOW LIFESTYLE, GENETICS, AND ENVIRONMENT INTERACT TO PROMOTE RESILIENCE AGAINST ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE
The talk: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most frequent cause of dementia in people > 60 years and represents a big challenge for public health with > 30 million patients worldwide.
Prof. Mark Gluck’s talk will guide us into the early detection and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease. He run a large NIH-funded longitudinal study of this in older African Americans (very high risk group), and he is currently investigating how genetics and fitness interact to determine neuroprotection.
