Davide Astiaso Garcia è Professore Aggregato (RTDB) in Fisica Tecnica (ING.IND/11).

Nel 2008 e 2009 è stato Research Assistant, Lecturer e Visiting Researcher al CCLP, Cambridge University (UK). Dal 2008 al 2012 è stato socio fondatore e membro del Consiglio di Amministrazione dello Spin Off Universitario della Sapienza (Se. Qu. Env. - Security and Quality for the Environment). Nel 2012 ha ricevuto Lettera di encomio dal DG per l'Internazionalizzazione della Ricerca del MIUR, e Premio alla Ricerca Amleto Cavagna di supporto dei giovani ricercatori, conferito dalla Sapienza per le ricerca svolte nelle tecnologie applicate allo sviluppo sostenibile.

Dal 2012 lavora in progetti di ricerca Europei, tra cui SoURCE (sustainable urban cells), PRACTICE (Planning Rethinked Ageing Cities Through Innovative Cellular Environments), GREAT Med (Generating a Risk and Ecological Analysis Toolkit for the Mediterranean), PRISMI (Promoting RES Integration for Smart Mediterranean Islands), ODYSSEA (Operating a network of integrated observatory systems in the Mediterranean sea), YENESIS (Youth Employment Network for Energy Sustainability in Islands), e GIFT (Geographical Island Flexibility). 

Dal 2016 è Coordinatore Didattico Scientifico del Master “Strategy Energy Management System – SEMS” della Facoltà di Ingegneria Civile e Industriale della Sapienza. 

Nel 2017 ha conseguito l’Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale a professore di ruolo di II fascia in “Fisica Tecnica e Ingegneria Nucleare”.

Dal 2019 è esperto della Commissione Europea Research Executive Agency (REA) per la valutazione delle proposte di progetti di ricerca per le call “H2020 FET OPEN – Future Emerging Technologies”.

È autore di oltre 70 pubblicazioni scientifiche (H index 17).

Davide Astiaso Garcia is Assistant Professor of Thermal Sciences, Energy Technology and Building Physics. His research activities in Sapienza University started in 2006. He is currently involved as coordinator of Sapienza University research team in two H2020 projects GIFT - Geographical Islands FlexibiliTy - (BUILDING A LOW-CARBON, CLIMATE RESILIENT FUTURE: SECURE, CLEAN AND EFFICIENT ENERGY) and ODYSSEA (Operating a network of integrated observatory systems in the Mediterranean Sea), and one EEA funded project (Youth Employment Network for Energy Sustainability in ISlands – YENESIS).

He has worked in more than 15 national and international research projects (also as Project coordinator, Chair of the Steering Committee, Project Contact Person and WP leader).

In 2017 he got the National Academic Qualification as Associate Professor in Thermal Science, Energy Technology and Building Physics. He is contracted by the European Commission Research Executive Agency (REA) as expert for the evaluation of the project proposal under  H2020 calls “FET OPEN (Future Emerging Technologies)”.

He is author of more than 70 scientific publications mainly concerning energy themes (H index: 17 Scopus ID: 56962755900).

 

Ambiti di ricerca IT: 

Gli ambiti di ricerca vertono principalmente sul tema della sostenibilità energetica, con particolare riferimento all’utilizzo delle fonti di energia rinnovabile a diversa scala, all’efficientamento energetico degli edifici ed agli smart energy systems, nonché attività di ricerca su metodologie di diagnosi e le tecniche di mitigazione degli impatti ambientali, analisi di rischio, strategie e tecniche per la mitigazione degli impatti antropici, monitoraggio inquinanti negli edifici, nei contesti urbane e nelle aree di pregio ambientale, come specificato nella lista delle principali pubblicazioni.
