MaterialdesignLab

The MaterialdesignLab is a research and services laboratory that provides support activities in the field of Design with a particular focus on materials with the aim of triggering innovation processes of the product. MdLab offers an operational technical support to the research and teaching activities of the Department (research on behalf of a third-level thesis of a PhD thesis educational internships with jobsoul alternation school work etc.) The MdLab Laboratory is equipped with:
- a library of innovative materials that can be implemented and a library of dedicated texts;
- technical equipment able to support experimentation processes on materials;
- a space for design experimentation.

The technical and operational skills of the MdLab Laboratory are addressed to the following fields of application:
- study of material scenarios for experimentation and product development;
- technology transfer for the exploitation of the results of scientific research through the application of materials and patents in products with a high technological level, typological and performance, with attention to environmental sustainability

The MdLab Laboratory offers the following activities:
- support for scientific and experimental research carried out by researchers and professors of the Department, of the University and of external structures both nationally and internationally;
- experimental technical activities related to development projects in partnership or on behalf of external entrepreneurial and / or institutional subjects, both nationally and internationally, focusing on the laboratory's field of competence;
- technical support activities for the experimental activities of University researchers and professors and of external Structures, both nationally and internationally, focusing on the laboratory's field of competence;
- technical support activities for University students wishing to carry out periods of curricular training focusing on the field of competence of the laboratory;
- "incubator" activity for professional researchers and young designers interested in experimenting with design processes related to new materials
