Arriving in Rome by plane
Fiumicino International Airport "Leonardo da Vinci" (FCO), is the main airport of the city and is located about 30 km southwest of the city. Best options to get to the conference venue are:
- By train. The Leonardo Express, a first-class only non-stop service, links Fiumicino Airport with Roma Termini railway station in approximately 30 minutes. It operates every 15/30 minutes from early morning until late evening. The single ticket, valid for only one journey, costs 14 Euro. Once in Termini station, you may take the subway blue Line B and get off after a couple of stops at Colosseum Station, or take the bus line no. 75. The conference venue is at walkable distance (approx. 300 m.) from there. As an alternative, you can walk down via Cavour, since the Faculty of Engineering is only 1,2 km distant from Termini.
- By taxi. Taxi service is available at Arrival areas. Authorized Taxi vehicles are white with a “TAXI” sign on the roof. A fixed fare of 48 Euro, including all supplements, is defined from Fiumicino Airport to Rome city center (within the Aurelian Walls). The journey takes about 50 minutes up to 90 minutes in heavy traffic conditions.

Ciampino International Airport "G. B. Pastine" (CIA) is the secondary international airport of Rome, situated 12 km southeast of Rome. Main options to reach the city center and thus the city center are:
- By bus. Ciampino Airport can be reached with daily connection between the airport and Roma Termini railway station. The service operates every day, from Monday to Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online, at the authorized agents located in the Arrival Terminal or on board the bus. All the bus stops are opposite International Departures. For information on timetables, routes, and the cost of tickets see the websites of the various bus companies. Once in Termini station, you may take the subway blue Line B and get off after a couple of stops at Colosseum Station, or take the bus line no. 75. The conference venue is at walkable distance (approx. 300 m.) from there

Arriving in Rome by train
Major Italian cities are connected by high speed trains to Roma Termini railway station. For information on timetables, routes, and the cost of tickets, as well as for on-line ticketing, check the websites of the two companies operating the passengers railroad transportation: Trenitalia and Italo. Once in Termini station, you may take the subway blue Line B and get off after a couple of stops at Colosseum Station, or take the bus line no. 75. The conference venue is at walkable distance (approx. 300 m.) from there. As an alternative, you can walk down via Cavour, since the Faculty of Engineering is only 1,2 km distant from Termini.
Arriving in Rome by car
If you decide to arrive by car, the best way to reach Rome is via the Milan-Naples A1/E35 motorway, taking the “Roma Nord”, Roma Est” or “Roma Sud” exit, depending on which direction are you coming from and on traffic conditions. You can find Google maps placeholder marking the Conference venue here. Please be aware that in the surroundings of the conference venue there are limited parking possibilities. Moreover, special signed-posted Limited Traffic Zones are in place in the historical centre of the city, and special permits are required in order to drive through these areas. For all the above, getting to the Conference venue by car is strongly inadvisable.
