The interlibrary loan is a service that allows you to obtain books or other resources not owned by Sapienza libraries from Italian or foreign libraries for personal use or study. Books must be collected from a Sapienza library and returned within the given deadlines.
To obtain an interlibrary loan, simply contact a Sapienza library, which will forward your request to the library that owns the book or resource you are interested in.
The response time, arrival time and duration of the loan depend on the sending library.
For institutional users, interlibrary loan is free of charge if the books are owned by libraries with which agreements and/or conventions have been stipulated. In other cases, postal charges must be reimbursed.
Document delivery is the service that allows you to obtain - or personal or study purposes - a copy of an article published in a periodical or part of a book that is not available in the Sapienza libraries.
To obtain a document delivery, simply contact a Sapienza library, which will forward your request to the library that owns the book or resource of interest.
In general, the service is free of charge, but depending on agreements between libraries, there may be a charge for the user.
The response and arrival times of the documents depend on a multitude of factors and can therefore vary.
