Abstract
Adjustable Learning Spaces at Maastricht University: the future is near!

Maastricht University has, as the first PBL-university in Europe, a long-standing relation between the Faculties and the Library, by means of the so-called Study Landscape, a combination of study spaces and learning resources, especially meant for students. Nowadays Maastricht University Library is physically foremost a student-library. Being also an international university, the Library attracts more and more students. PBL forces the Library to be readily adjustable with respect to the learning spaces. With the prospect of a new university building (Tapijn) the Library has the possibility to implement this adjustability on a new and future-proof level: conversation – collaboration – concentration.
In this presentation I will focus on PBL, the library within PBL, the present situation, and ideas which we gathered in the past two years for the new design of the library buildings.
