Head of the Department

Professor Luigi Marinelli has been Director of the Department of European, American and Intercultural Studies since November 2019.

CURRICULUM:

Luigi Marinelli PhD, since 1994 has been full professor of Slavic Studies - Polish Language and Literature. He is the author or editor of about two hundred publications in several languages, on Polish and Slavic comparative studies, Polish-Italian interrelations, theory of literature and translation studies, Polish culture and literature from the Middle Ages to the last decades. He is doctor honoris causa of the Jagellonian University in Cracow, a foreign member of the Polish
Academy of Sciences (PAN) and the Polish Academy of Learning (PAU) and a honorary member of the Literary Association "Adam Mickiewicz" – Warsaw and of the Ambrosian Academy (Class of Slavonic Studies) – Milan.
