The ‘A’ course -Restoration of monuments and landscape protection-, is a two years course, including surveys, external contributions and 15 teachings, named and characterized as:

- B. In-depth and Additional Courses
In-depth courses aimed at provide specific skills, including hands-on experiences, regarding topics related to the basic teaching.In-depth courses aree closely connected to the basic ones and similarly imparted, also regarding the final test.In current academic year the available courses are:

The ‘B’ course -Gardens and historical parks restoration-, is a two years course, including surveys, external contributions and 15 teachings, named and characterized as:

- History of garden and landscape (I year, CFU 8).
- Theory and history of gardens and historical parks Restoration (I year, CFU 8).
- Technology and conservation of historic garden functional and hydraulic systems (I year, CFU 8).
- Phytophysiology (I year, CFU 6).
- Cultivation (I year, CFU 6).
- Graphic representation and project (I year, CFU 6).
- Construction site (I year, BIO / 03, CFU 8).
- Principles and methods of conservation, and planning of historical landscape (II year, CFU 8).
- Gardens and historical parks morphology (II year, CFU 6).
- Gardens and historical parks artificial components (II year, 6 credits).
- Gardens and historical parks natural components (II year, CFU 6).
- Basic of Legislation and Restoration charters (II year, CFU 6).
- Tree statics, and conservation and restoration techniques (II year, CFU 8).

- B. In-depth Contributions
Contributions by specializing professionals in different specific disciplines, dedicated to the treatment, even of a more applicative and practical nature, of some topics related to the basic teachings, are held.Courses goal is to provide adjunctive skilss in a more pratical understanding of some teachings.In current academic year the available courses are:
- Examples of irrigation systems construction in gardens and historical parks (I year), integrated into Technology of hydraulic and irrigation systems course.
- Gardens and parks by optical electronic instruments (1st and 2nd year), integrated into Constructions site course, I and II year.
- In-depth bibliographic research on historical texts (I year), integrated into History of the garden and landscape course.
- Characterization and graphic schemes in electronic representation (I year), integrated into Graphic representation and project course .
- Botanical Garden of Rome historical collections (I year), integrated into Descriptive Botany and phytography course.
- Plant from-life drawing (I year), integrated into Botany and phytography course.
In addition, a dedicated assistance is provided:o) Tutorial assistance to support diploma theses (I and II year). integrated into Restoration project seminars.
- Visits, external contributions and seminars constitute an essential completion of the teachings conducted in individual courses.

- REGISTRATION RULES
- How to submit an application to participate the competitive exam:
- if you have never been a student at Sapienza University of Rome
register at Infostud 2.0 by accessing the page https://www.uniroma1.it/it/pagina-strutturale/studenti.
- If you have already been a student at Sapienza University of Rome
you do not need to register but access Infostud 2.0, using your serial number and password.For any search problems, use the search procedures on the page.
- Print and pay the payment form, using the "course code".
The payment form constitute both the self-certification and the application form to participate in the competitive exam.Payment can be made at any UniCredit bank branch, throughout the country or online, by credit card (see www.uniroma1.it/didattica/tasse/pagamenti):on expiry day, both bank or online payment, have to be made before 15.45 (local time).
- The payment date is equivalent to the application date.
The payment receipt must be shown at the competition venue, before the test.Applications not accomplishing with submission procedure rules are not valid, including both payment and application forms.
- During the days leading up the exam, competitors are allowed to present certificates, publications, graduation thesis to be evaluated in the attribution of the score based on qualifications.
The presented documents -progressively numbered, as in the qualifications list attached and signed-, have to be delivered to the school Didactic Secretariat or send by registered letter with return receipt (sealed envelope, indicating candidate name and surname and School denomination).If of some interest in restoration subjects, to present an extract or a thesis reduced copy (not original) is recommended; moreover a self-certification or degree certificate in plain paper, with exams taken and Graduation score, is to be provided.
- The time, the day and the venue where the written competitive exam will take place, will be announced on notice board at the School, for at least 15 days before, and published on the school's website.
The test will include multiple questions, about both architectural history, and restoration of monuments, and gardens and historical parks - intended in a wider sense-, expecting for brief essay accompanied by illustrative sketches.
- Foreign students, European Union citizens, must present a simple copy of necessary documents to equivalence qualification declaration (degree certificate and other translated titles) -also indicating contact details-, to the Didactic Secretariat, on thecompetitive exam day.
- After the competitive examination -in the ways and times that will be promptly disclosed- the students are allowed to express their intention to follow the 'A' study plan or the 'B' study plan; preferences will be taken into account depending on avability and ranking.
The ranking, including boht admitted and eligible candidates, will be announced on notice board at administrative secretary of specialization students; it will also be announced on the University website https://www.uniroma1.it/it/pagina/corsi-di-specializzazione.On the University website, "Regulations for enrollment in graduate schools", "Rules for enrollment in subsequent years and out of course" and "Rules for Transfers" will be published.The lists will be posted for at least 15 days and will be the only notice for those admitted to the course.
- Candidates who, during the exam, need help, such as a tutor or special aids, and additional time, must notify the University Desk for relations with disabled students on the toll-free number 800410960.
Requests, compiling the form available by the Help Desk, must be received in advance: at least 10 days in advance for tutor assistance, and at least 20 days in advance for technological aids that are not in common use.
- Students, who are not European Union citizens, residing abroad, must present their serial number application, and necessary qualifications, addressed to the Rector and written on plain paper, to the Italian diplomatic representation in their countries of origin, usually within the month of August each year. This request will then be sent by the competent Italian diplomatic representation to the University.
Usually the request must be accompanied by the following documents:1) valid identity document photocopy;2) original (or certified photocopy) of the final title of the secondary school studies translated, legalized and with a declaration of value prepared by the Italian Diplomatic Representation where the title was obtained;3) original (or certified photocopy) of the academic qualification as described above.
- For students who are not part of the European Union it is necessary, for School enrollment, to pass the Italian language test, which usually is held at the School.
The date of the language test will be announced by being posted to the register of foreign students, at least ten days in advance. Those who have not taken or passed the language test, cannot be admitted to the written competitive examination.Information INFORMATION
