The enormous potential offered by optical telecommunications in the space field and the possible benefits for society require appropriate coordination actions at the national level, allowing the creation of synergies and the definition of forms of support for technological, application, and scientific developments, which will ensure that the country can compete in an international scenario aimed at strengthening the growth and enhancement of Italian research excellence. In this context, ESA-in collaboration with ASI-organized the workshop "Optical & Quantum Communication", which will be held at ASI headquarters on July 2, 2019. The objective of the workshop is to share, at the national level, what has been done in ARTES in the field of optical communications and to present the state, to date, of expertise in optical communications in the Italian industrial and scientific sector. To participate, it is necessary to fill out the appropriate registration form and send it by June 24, 2019, to the e-mail address space.quantum@asi.it.
