Fully-funded PhD positions
Multiple fully funded PhD positions are available in the group of Francesco Maresca (https://www.rug.nl/staff/f.maresca/) at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, in Multi-scale mechanics modelling of materials, with focus on:
1. Hydrogen Embrittlement in Steels;
2. Solute strengthening in High Entropy Alloys.
The positions will involve using Molecular Dynamics simulations and/or continuum Crystal Plasticity to model fracture and dislocation plasticity.
The positions are for four years, with flexible start date.
Candidate’s profile:
- M.Sc. in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science.
- Preference for candidates with proven experience in Molecular Dynamics and Crystal Plasticity modelling.
