Rules for the choice of the PhD thesis subject Directly established by the industries/companies funding the scholarship, as is indicated in the Call for Application.
Tests for admission to the following year The student must submit to the Board a report of the educational activities followed during thefirst year and the main technical scientific achievements. The Board provides an assessment of the merits.
Notes Seminars, workshops and/or training and research visiting are provided. In research-oriented courses in science and math technology, and involving the use of tools for modeling, simulation and mathematical optimization, the possibility to carry out internship curricular activities in the context of the project "Mathematical Desk for Italian Industry", held at the Institute for Applied Mathematics "Mauro Picone "of the National research Council, is considered.

Activities connected with the research

 

Any further information Seminars, laboratory and/or training activities will be also delivered by foreign professors and experts from industries/companies. The laboratory activities are provided to complete the training in specific areas of relevant to the individual research topic.
In research-oriented courses in science and math technology, and involving the use of tools for modeling, simulation and mathematical optimization, the possibility to carry out internship curricular activities in the context of the project "Mathematical Desk for Italian Industry", held at the Institute for Applied Mathematics "Mauro Picone "of the National research Council, is considered.
Rules for admission  to the final examination The student must submit to the PhD Board a report on all training activities followed in the three years and the technical and scientific results achieved. The Board, together with experts of industries/companies funding the scholarships, will provide an assessment of the merits for the admission to the final examination.
Rules for the final exam An examination board, made up of external professors, whose scientific sector is relevant to the research topic of the PhD students, will evaluate the activities of the candidates who have received a favorable opinion from the PhD Board.

 

STUDENT MOBILITY
 
The PhD in “Science and Technology for Complex Systems” provides the opportunity for students to study abroad whilst undertaking their degree. Student Mobility can be both incoming and outgoing in the form of Bilateral Exchange or one-way Study Abroad.
