Courses

The teachings of the DISG professors are included in a wide range of Degree and Master's Degree Courses, serving the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, the Faculty of Information Engineering, Computer Science and Statistics, the Faculty of Architecture and the Latina and Rieti campuses.

I and II cycle Degrees in Civil Engineering
DISG is the reference department for the I cycle Degree Course in Civil Engineering and the II cycle Degree Course in Civil Engineering. These courses count about 1100 students, with roughly 100 (for the I cycle) and 90 graduates / year (for the II cycle).
Starting from the 2018/19 academic year, DISG will also be the reference department for the Architecture-Engineering Inter-Faculty II cycle  Degree Course in Project Management and Construction of Building Systems.

DISG is also committed to furthering higher education through three second level Master's courses and a PhD course.

PhD in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering

- The PhD in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering aims to provide an advanced scientific and technical culture, with the aim of training and accompanying doctoral students through their three-year research path. Topics of interest are related to fundamental and advanced researches on: constitutive aspects of traditional (masonry) and “innovative” materials (composites, nano-composites, bio-); structural dynamics; structural stability; geomechanics; applied research in the structural and geotechnical sectors with reference to soil protection, conservation and preservation of the historical heritage from seismic hazards, structural adaptation and energy saving.
DISG also participates in the research doctorates of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, DIMA and of Sciences and Technologies of Complex Systems, DIAEE.

Second Level Masters available at DISG

- The second level Master in Geotechnical Design & Management of Geotechnical and Major Underground Projects also involves well-known researchers from various European universities.
The Master has now reached it's 8th edition and the call has been published. Deadline is January 15, 2021. The Master is a high specializing course, that forges a solid link between University and  Industry, providing  new graduates and young professionals with practical skills and a multidisciplinary knowledge in design, construction and management of major geotechnical and underground projects.

- The main  aim of the second level Master in Analysis, design, diagnostics and monitoring of infrastructures and strutcues is to train professionals specialised in  monitoring  structures and infrastructures. Monitoring and diagnostics, based on appropriate analyses of data measured in situ, are essential to assess the current capacity of a structure or infrastructure to correctly perform the planned project functions. In the context of modern structural engineering these are fundamental tools for managing the design-to-pension lifecycle of structural systems. Another important objective of the Master is to provide skills in the field of rehabilitation and structural reinforcement strategies and techniques.

- The second level University Master EuroProject, Advanced Structural Design with Eurocodes is managed by the Universities of Rome La Sapienza and Roma Tre and includes seven partner universities that complete the teaching staff.
