Language requirements

As anticipated in 2013/2014 and as stated in the Erasmus + agreements, Sapienza will accept only students with an intermediate level of Italian language (i.e. Threshold level B1 or Higher of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Students can demonstrate their level of Italian by sending the results of the online assessment offered by the Online Linguistic Support (OLS). They can also prove their level of Italian with an official certificate (CILS - Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera, CELI - Certificazione Italiano generale, PLIDA - Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri, IT - Certificato di competenza generale in italiano come lingua straniera, CITA/TELC The European Language certificates and UNIcert) or alternative qualifications (i.e. certificate issued by the Home University, language centres/schools, etc.). The results of the test and/or the certificate should be sent before the arrival (by August, 30th 2015 for students coming in the 1st semester and by January, 30th 2016 for students coming in the 2nd semester): further information will be sent to the students directly.

Please, note that students that do not achieve an intermediate level of written and spoken Italian (B1 or above) may not be registered in the programmes, unless they participate in a course (with a fee) before the beginning of their stay. Further details will be given before each semester.
