Interests
One of my long-standing interests lies in the modulatory role of chemokines in synaptic transmission. I am coordinating a research group with extensive experience in studying the role CX3CL1 signaling in synaptic plasticity and using this expertise to address questions related to microglia functions and to the impact of microglia on synapses in physiology and pathology. I am using advanced electrophysiological, fluorescence and confocal analysis in hippocampal slices from mice defective in neuron-microglia signaling, to understand the contribution of microglia-neuron interactions.
