The Department Council

The Department Council is made up of tenured professors, researchers, even on a fixed-term basis and equivalent staff, the Administrative Secretary who has the function of verbalizing secretary, the representatives of the technical administrative staff and students: PhD students, postgraduates and students enrolled in the degrees. The elect remain in office for two years Among his main duties, he elects the Director of the Department, defines the general criteria for the use of the funds allocated to the Department for research, approves an annual research development plan of interest to the Department, formulates requests for teaching positions and researcher, expresses opinions on contract professors, approves the proposals for the establishment of research doctorates belonging to the department, formulates proposals and approves his adhesion to the establishment of the Centers: research, research and service, Interuniversity and service; expresses an opinion, at the request of the Academic Senate, on the proposed establishment of these Centers; , dictates the provisions for the operation, according to the University regulations, of the organizational structures of the library and the services also for the teaching activity headed by the Department, and makes available the necessary resources; expresses opinions and formulates proposals to the Faculty Council in relation to the planning and testing of teaching activities, deliberates on teachers' applications for the Department, approves the budget and the final account according to the provisions of the University Regulations for the administration, finance and accounting, collaborates with the governing bodies of the University and with the national planning bodies.
