Animal Wellbeing Boar (OPBA)


Every Research Project Manager, operating in the Department of Molecular Medicine or Experimental Medicine, using animals in the department structures must forward a request to the Animal Wellbeing Board (OPBA) as established by Legislative Decree N. 26 (March 4, 2014) and follow the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health (see “Documentation").

 

Project Managers will be required to complete two forms (“Outline for Research Project Presentation” and “Non-Technical Research Project Summary”) together with the Research Project Proposal, the Project Manager’s CV and a declaration by the  Project Manager (as required by Article 46, Paragraph 1, Letter AA of Bill of DPR - December 28, 2000 on “Legislative Provision in the Matter of Administrative Documentation” regarding the absence of definitive sentences in compliance with Article 444 CPP for violation of Articles 544-bis and 544-ter of the Penal Code or for violations of Articles 4 or 5 of Bill N. 201, November 4, 2010.)

 

Project Managers must submit the above described documentation to the Animal Wellbeing Board via email (opbamedmol@cert.uniroma1.it). The board will communicate their evaluation of the request to the Project Manager and forward the

authorization request to the Ministry of Health.
