Internships
In the academic year 2023–2024, the first internships for Natural Science students started in the Herbarium with amazing enthusiasm. The student participation are marked by competence and integration with the Herbarium staff, and the activities mostly comprise collection care, environmental awareness raising, digitization, and cataloging.
Currently, there are two active projects:
The first project, "Preservation and Digitalization of the Museum's Collections," deals with the maintenance of the Herbarium collections through conservation activities such as preparation, restoration, pinning, reordering, and scheduling of the specimens, followed by their digitalization using a planetary scanner.
The second project, "Cataloging and multimedia in the SapienzaHerbarium", insists more on the IT aspect, the management and storage of images and participation in virtual exhibitions and various multimedia activities of the Museum Laboratory, encouraging practical applications to communication and naturalistic dissemination also in relation to entering the world of work.
The participation of students is highly anticipated with the highest expectations for the initiative's success.
