Cardiovascular diseases

According to the World Health Organization, cardiovascular diseases represent one of the leading causes of death in the world.
Scientific research has highlighted strong relationships among psychological and cognitive aspects with cardiovascular health. 
Some psychological aspects (e.g., emotional dysregulation, maladaptive coping strategies) can be risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. On the other hand, cardiovascular disorders can compromise some cognitive functions.
 
In the laboratory, the following topics are analyzed:
• Hypertension.
• Takotsubo syndrome.
• Acute myocardial infarction.
