Study plan

The Master's Degree in Energy Engineering - “Nuclear Technologies and Plants” course are taught in San Pietro in Vincoli and Palazzo Baleani , whew also seminars for students and doctoral students, laboratory experiences for educational and research purposes take place.

At the Palazzo Baleani headquarters there are the lecturers' offices of the DIAEE Nuclear Section, for the following teachings:

Degree in Energy Engineering: Applications of Nuclear Energy, Safety and Environmental Impact of Energy Systems, Instrumentation and Control of Energy Systems.

Master's Degree in Energy Engineering: Advanced Thermotechnology, Nuclear Plants, Nuclear Power Plants, Hazardous Engineering, Nuclear Fusion Reactor Technologies, Neutronic Project of Nuclear Systems, Risk Analysis in Industrial Plants, Models of Energy Plant Analysis.

Graduates of the nuclear program who carry out part of their thesis work at a European university or research center can obtain the European Master's Degree in Nuclear Engineering (EMSNE) from the European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN).

The teaching and research activities on Nuclear Engineering begin at the Sapienza University of Rome in the second half of the 1960s, first as a Postgraduate Course, then as an independent Degree Course. The Nuclear Engineering Area originated in 1980 toghether with the establishment of the Institute of Nuclear Plants, which collected the disciplines ranging from the fundamentals of Atomic and Nuclear Physics, to Nuclear Chemistry, to Nuclear Plant Engineering and to Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection. The professors of the nuclear plant engineering and reactor physics sector currently work for the DIAEE.
