The Herbarium of Cultivated Plants

There is no direct historical information on this collection. It was probably set up under the direction of Pietro Romualdo Pirotta and includes plants grown in Italian botanical gardens in a period between the first half of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. The most substantial material comes from the three different location of the Botanical Garden of Rome (Salviati, Panisperna, Corsini) and from the Botanical Garden of Naples. These specimens originally belonged to the Herbaria of Pietro Sanguinetti, Ernesto Mauri and Vincenzo Cesati.
