Torniamo indietro nel tempo con la punta di freccia in selce dalla necropoli di Ponte San Pietro, nella provincia di Viterbo, dove è stata trovata come oggetto di corredo. La punta di freccia è piatta e con ritocchi paralleli, che indicano la grande abilità tecnica di chi l’ha realizzata. Il peduncolo mostra chiare tracce di una sostanza organica marrone scuro, interpretabile come il residuo di un collante usato per fissarla in un manico. La punta di freccia è rotta e la frattura è visibile sul peduncolo. L’importanza del manufatto esposto consiste nella sua capacità di farci comprendere la tecnologia, le tecniche di caccia e l’ideologia della guerra delle comunità di questo periodo.
Step back in time with our exhibit featuring a flint arrowhead from the Ponte San Pietro necropolis in the province of Viterbo, where was found as a grave good. This artifact dates to the Copper Age (3720-3630 BCE). The arrowhead has horizontal wings and a tang, with straight edges and a bent-flat section. The arrowhead's flat and parallel retouching shows that it was skillfully crafted. The tang of the arrowhead shows clear traces of a dark-brown organic substance, which is believed to be the remains of glue used to attach the handle. The arrowhead is made up of two fragments, where the fracture is on the tang. The exhibit showcases the importance of this artifact, providing insight into the technology, hunting methods, war ideology of human communities during this period.
