NMDA receptor synaptic retention: from synaptic plasticity  to Parkinson’s disease

Prof.  Fabrizio Gardoni (Dept. Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences (DiSFeB) University of Milano)

19 JUNE  2019,  12.00 – 13.00

Monterotondo CNR Seminar Room, Building 21

Abstract

NMDA receptor subunit composition plays a pivotal role in synaptic plasticity at excitatory synapses. Still, the...

"Epigenetic germline inheritance: Effects of chronic, acute and internal stress"

Chronic and acute stress are major risk factors for the development of neuropsychiatric disorders later in life and sometimes effects even extend across generations. Modelling such scenario in mice has revealed a complex pattern of epigenetic alterations affecting the entire organism. It is started to unravel some mechanistic underpinnings and newly found...

Recurrent excitation and inhibition between spinal motoneurons.

Aula Sergi Ed. Fisiologia generale e antropologia CU026

The recurrent inhibitory loop between Renshaw cells andmotoneurones was the first functional circuit described in the nervous system, yet its precise role in motor control has remained elusive. Previous theoretical studies have yielded inconsistent conclusions but were limited...

Title: “Microenvironmental control of hematopoietic regeneration”

Abstract:
Hematopoietic microenvironment, or niche, protects hematopoietic stem cells from the deleterious effects of aging and stress on hematopoietic regeneration. However, little is known about specific molecules that mediate this effect. This talk will introduce spatially-resolved single cell RNA-Seq analysis platform for niche factor discovery and describe novel regulators of hematopoietic stem cell quiescence and self-renewal which have been identified using this approach.
