We are witnessing a worldwide escalation of conflicts, deterioration of respect of humanitarian and human rights law, deepening inequality and divisions within and between states, as well as escalation of  negative effects of the climate change. Given this gloomy context, it is more than ever necessary to strengthen independent international academic institutions such as the IUC. We are thanking you for your contribution to our joint mission and hope that together we can achieve even more in the near future. We cannot allow to be the first generation in history that will leave the world in a worse shape than we have inherited it!

That is why we are happy to be sending you another IUC Academic programme poster – from this year with the IUC’s new logo – representing the IUC’s mission of strengthening global ties, and connecting the world with all its varieties. The programme is announcing numerous international and interdisciplinary courses and conferences that deal with up-to-date societal and scientific topics.

Available scholarship options that we have: support from the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Youth.  IUC South-East European Scholarship fund that offers grants to PhD students from the region in the fields of humanities and social sciences and Marija and Mirjan Damaška fund offering scholarships to participants in IUC human rights and mass atrocity prevention programmes coming from non-EU SE European countries and countries affected by conflicts or instabilities. With this support, we are trying to make our operation be as inclusive as possible and contribute to establishing of word that is coming closer together, rather than growing apart. We are thanking you for contributing to this mission in supporting professors and students from your institution that are active in the IUC programmes.

We are also inviting scholars from your institution to initiate new academic programme within the IUC. Please find attached a useful brochure that provides practical information.  Being concerned with effects travelling has on climate change,  we are supporting green traveling options. More information on this can be found on our web pages www.iuc.hr.  However, despite the progress technology has brought to us, in-depth interaction and understanding is still achieved in direct contact. That is why we continue strengthening existing collaborations and initiating new ones.
