SUNSPACE

Technocycle

SUNSPACE (acronym for SUstaiNable materials Synthesized from by Products and Alginates for Clean air and better Environments) is a bioinspired, porous and economical material for the trapping of atmospheric particles (PA). It constitutes a valid alternative to existing filters, moreover it is synthesized starting from industrial by-products with savings in economic terms and natural resources. Like a leaf, it is able to capture PA thanks to small pores in the shape of an ink bottle and to regenerate itself with simple rain. Due to these characteristics, the material is designed as a coating for urban surfaces.
