The winners of RRIstarthack. Uni-hackathon for responsible innovation

The "RRIstarthack, Uni-hackathon for responsible innovation" competition was held in Rome, at the Saperi&Co headquarters. A design marathon in which students, recent graduates, doctoral students and researchers from all the faculties of Sapienza University of Rome participated.

Sixteen teams, for a total of 64 participants, were called to propose new solutions through physical or digital products, using digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the Mobility&Sustainable and Sport&Wellbeing sectors.

At the end of the third day, 4 projects were awarded:
1) PavinGREEN with the Rubberbrick project, which involves the creation of paving blocks based on recycled rubber from end-of-life tyres, to be implemented in electric vehicle charging areas;
2) RH-Rackethack with the RacketUP project, a device to improve the performance of tennis or padel players through constant and real-time monitoring of performances;
3) GoAhead with the AI-powered personal trainer project, which with the help of artificial intelligence makes it possible to track in real time the movements of a user who plays sports without the physical presence of an expert;
4) MLInnovation with the Go2Bike project, which helps companies achieve the greenhouse gas emissions objectives dictated by the European climate law.

The winners were awarded cash prizes (4,000 euros for each project, provided that they form a startup within 6 months of the conclusion of the hackathon) made available by Lazio Innova, together with an acceleration path through the Spazi Attivi network.
Furthermore, Sapienza University of Rome will offer an assistance path for the establishment of a startup and/or for the patenting of the product, thanks to the facilities present in its Saperi&Co research infrastructure.

The initiative, born within the European Horizon2020 project RRISart (Responsible Research&Innovation Model for Impact Investment&Responsible Startups), was created by the Lazio Region through Lazio Innova, together with Sapienza University of Rome and Saperi&Co, in collaboration with important partners, such as Eni Joule, Asc 27, WeSportUp, Wylab.
