MYCHROME

Bio-synergies
Biocycle
Eloquence

Mychrome, from mycelium and khroma (from the Greek "color"), is a project that includes various experiments on mycelium, the vegetative part of mushrooms, used as a binder for the creation of new materials from agricultural waste. In particular, experimenting with different substrates and species of fungi, the author focuses on the color and textures that can come out of them, using the same waste as pigments. The result is a sustainable, circular and compostable material, naturally fireproof, insulating and sound-absorbing for various applications from design, to interiors, to architecture, whose aesthetic value is placed in the foreground.
