    Aims: 

    The course aims to strengthen skills in operational cartography at urban and territorial scales and to provide a more solid basis for analytical reading of maps at different scale denominators. The objectives of thematic cartography will be developed on the knowledge of technical maps. An in-depth study concerns the development of cartography through time.

    The course is associated with a laboratory related to: Cartographic representation and transcription of the geographical component of information within a GIS; creation of geodatabases and data management in a GIS software; from GIS to thematic cartography in archaeological work.

     It is also possible to participate in the workshop on historical cartography (analysis of districts of Rome involved in urban transformations through historical maps of sequential chronology).
