    Profile: 

    Salvatore Milli is a sedimentologist with almost 40 years of activity in the field of sedimentary geology. Graduated in Geological Sciences in 1981, Ph.D. in Earth Sciences in 1992, Post-Doctoral Fellowship until 1994. Researcher from 1995 to 2004, Associate Professor from 2004 to 2007, Full Professor since 2007. He has more than 70 publications in journals, 5 articles in books, over 100 abstracts presented at conferences and various technical reports for public bodies and oil companies. Since 2017, he has an associate researcher at the Istituto di Geologia Ambientale e Geoingegneria of the CNR. The main research topics concern: Facies analysis and sequence stratigraphy of the terrigenous depositional systems and their application to paleontology ad archaeology. The study areas are in Italy, France, Spain, and Iraq. He is a member of the International Association of Sedimentologists (IAS), Society for Sedimentary Geology (SEPM), Società Geologica Italiana, GeoSed section, Società Romana di Scienze Naturali, National Geographic Society (NGS); former member of American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and of the Istituto Italiano di Paleontologia Umana. Since 2009 he is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Mediterranean Earth Sciences, and Member of the Editorial Board of the journal "Geological Field Trip" (Italian Geological Society). He is reviewer of several journals.
