Mori, Lucia
Lucia Mori is associate professor in History of the Ancient Near East, with qualification to full professor, and member of the PhD School of Philology and History of the Ancient World at Sapienza. She has collaborated with numerous national and international archaeological expeditions in the Near East and North Africa. Since 2011, she has been coordinating the historical and archaeological research onthe Hittite and Neo-Hittite periods at the site of Arslantepe Malatya, south-eastern Turkey. Among the main lines of research investigated are the reconstruction of the ancient landscape in the Near East, with particular attention, in recent years, to the exploitation of water resources; society and food in the ancient Near East, in particular research on the reconstruction of food processing areas and their socio-economic values; the development of pastoralism and the interaction between tribes and palaces in the ancient Near East.
