    Profile: 

    Associate professor in Prehistory and protohistory of the Near East and director of excavations and research at the site of Arslantepe (Turkey). Her research interests are: 

    • Food and Inequality – diets, food practices and the increase in inequalities in the Ancient Near East and during the Late Chalcolithic period of Anatolia.
    • Food Practices, manipulations of food and their meanings in prehistoric and protohistoric societies of the Near East.
    • Technology, massification of production and functionality of Pottery in the Late Chalcolithic of Eastern Anatolia and Northern Mesopotamia.
    • The Late Chalcolithic of Eastern Anatolia: pottery, settlement organisation and activities, subsistence economy, and craft.
    • Management, presentation, protection and conservation of archaeological sites.
    • Palaeoenvironmental reconstruction and human exploitation of the environment.
    • Archive and digital management of Archaeological and excavatino data.
    • The Neolithic of the Near East, social organisation, symbolism, ideology, primary economy, pottery production and role.

    Students may apply to participate both to excavation and research activities at the site of Arslantepe and to laboratory work related with management, elaboration and fruition of digital data from the Arslantepe archives.
