    Aims:

The Human Paleontology course, active for over twenty-five years at the Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Archeologici, still has a double value. On the one hand, it intends to offer an updated overview of Paleoanthropology, that is on the current knowledge on human evolution: from the non-human primates of the Miocene to the origins and spread of the modern human species, Homo sapiens, in the mid-to-late Pleistocene. On the other hand, it introduces the Biology of ancient human populations that is to the Skeletal biology of human remains from archaeological contexts, thus contributing to the dialogue between distinct skills and professional profiles, which cooperates in an interdisciplinary framework from the field activities and in the laboratory investigations.

The course includes lectures, coupled with demonstrations and other hands-on activities.
