    Aims: 

    The aim of the course is that of providing the students with tools needed for the study of Ancient Numismatics and of the role of coins within it. Particular attention will be paid to the methods of analysis of coin finds from archaeological contexts.

    Course organization: 
    The course foresees lectures, focused on the introduction to the study of subject, and seminars aimed at the analysis of case studies, useful at the reconstruction of the main steps of monetary economy’s development in the Graeco-Roman world, and at the correct use of data obtained from coin circulation.

    The lessons are accompanied by laboratories / trainings and educational visits, aimed at putting students in direct contact with numismatic materials and allowing practical exercise of coin restoration and recording.
