    Profile: 

    Giulia Recchia is Associate Professor in Prehistory and Protohistory at the Sapienza University of Rome and Honorary Associate Researcher at the Institute of Archaeology – UCL (UK). She was previously Lecturer at the University of Foggia.
    Her research interest focuses on Mediterranean Prehistory, particularly the 3rd and 2nd millennia BC. In this framework she has worked and published on various topics: Cultural contacts and exchange networks; Development of complex society; Late Prehistoric Landscapes; Funerary and ritual practices; Pottery function and spatial analysis. 
    Currently she leads research at the sites of Coppa Nevigata (FG) and Tas-Silġ (Malta), and carries out research 3rd millennium BC contexts in Dalmatia. She is director of the Italian Archaeological Mission in Malta. Previous research projects include the ‘Murge Tableland Project’, as well as excavations at various Bronze Age sites in central and southern Italy (Masseria Chiancudda in southern Apulia, Monteroduni and Oratino in Molise).
