    Profile:

Enza E. Spinapolice is a Paleolithic archaeologist who works in the field of Evolutionary Anthropology. After a European doctorate you Sapienza / Université de Bordeaux 1 she has been part of national and international research groups, working at the Max Planck For Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig and at the LCHES in Cambridge. She began her research with the study of Neanderthal adaptations in southern Europe and their extinction. After several years of working on the behavior of Neanderthal, she extended her research to the African record of Homo sapiens, broadly in the same time frame (the "Middle Paleolithic"). The range of variations and diversities that she has since discovered have profoundly expanded her perspective on the meaning of "becoming human". She is currently leading projects in Europe and East Africa and is interested in the variability within MSA and the Pan-African connection of people and technologies. She is also interested in the concept of "extended mind" and she works on the cognitive aspects of the construction of tools, also with the starting point of the Primate Archeology.
